Does someone need to be home when the cleaning tech cleans my home?

Not at all, and it is completely your option. There are several ways FeatherDusters, Inc. can gain access to your home. You may choose to give us a key to be safely stored in your file in our office.  You can also purchase a lockbox with a code for our staff, or, the tried and true leaving the key under the mat!

 

Do you guarantee your work?

You want to know that your home or office will be cleaned just the way you want it and we'll guarantee it every time!  If you're not 100% completely satisifed, simply contact our office within 24 hours of the cleaning letting us know of the issue and we'll re-clean the area at no additional charge.  At FeatherDusters, the job is finished only when you're completely satisfied.

 

What time is your first house cleaning of the day?

FeatherDusters, Inc.’s first appointment of the day is between 8- 8:15 AM.  The remainder of the schedule can fluctuate depending on the condition of the homes prior to arriving at your home along with traffic and weather condition.  We cannot guarantee a specific time of arrival, only a window of time for arrival, either morning, 8am to 12 noon or afternoon, 12 noon to 4pm.

 

Are there any additional fees I should know about?

We have a Cancellation Policy, a Lockout Policy and a Returned Check Policy listed below that all customers should be aware of:

 

Cancellation Policy
We require a 24-hour notice of cancellation. If you're cleaning is scheduled for Monday, we request cancellation by close of business the Friday prior to your cleaning.  If you need to cancel or re-schedule on shorter notice, a $35 Re-scheduling Fee will be assessed to compensate our associates for their time.

 

Lockout Policy
Please leave a key or provide us with access to your home for all scheduled appointments. If we are unable to enter your home for any reason, a $35 Lockout Fee will be assessed.

 

Returned Check Policy

We charge a $40 administrative fee on all returned checks.  

 

How many cleaners are on a FeatherDusters, Inc. crew?

In most case FeatherDusters, Inc. will send two (2) to three (3) cleaning technicians.  If the job is very large and would require additional help we may send more technicians to allow us to work effeciently through the house.

 

Do you allow tipping for the team members?

FeatherDusters never requires tipping, but it is a great way to say thank you to your team members.  The decision to tip and how much is a completely personal matter and not a mandatory obligation.  Rather than adding the tip to the check, we request that you make a gift of cash directly to the team as this is a bookkeeping nightmare.  A personal note of appreciation can mean just as much.   

 

What forms of payment does FeatherDusters, Inc. accept?

FeatherDusters, Inc. accepts check, credit card and cash.

 

Is FeatherDusters, Inc. insured?

Yes, FeatherDusters, Inc. is insured. Of course we are careful with your belongings but it’s good to have the peace of mind that you are protected against loss and or breakage that may occur while we clean your home. A copy of our insurance policy is available upon request.

 

Do I need to provide any cleaning supplies for FeatherDusters, Inc.

FeatherDusters, Inc. provides all the necessary cleaning products to clean your home.  However, we are happy to use your preferred cleaning solutions, especially on specialty surfaces such as granite countertops or stainless steel appliances.

 

Do you use bleach during cleaning?

FeatherDusters does not use bleach during the cleaning of any home.  If the use of bleach is requested, it must be supplied by the homeowner and the homeowner accepts all responsibility for any damage the bleach may cause.

 

What will FeatherDusters, Inc. charge to clean my home?

The cost of cleaning your home depends on several factors such as location, size of the home, condition of the home and frequency of your cleaning schedule.

 

Does FeatherDusters, Inc. clean on the weekends?

FeatherDusters, Inc. does not clean on Saturdays. This can be discussed with our office manager as needed.  We prefer not to bring regular clients on for these days, as these clients are often in the position of needing to be rescheduled or canceled, which is difficult for our staff.

 

Do I have to do anything before the maids arrive to clean my house?

In order to give you the greatest value, we ask that you take a few moments prior to our arrival to pick up extra clothes, shoes, books, toys, and other household items that may hinder our cleaning.

 

How does a FeatherDusters, Inc. crew clean wood floors?

Typically FeatherDusters, Inc. will use a small amount of Murphy’s Oil Soap and water which leaves a nice, streak free clean, but some home owners prefer the bruce floor cleaner or vinegar and water.  We will ask for you to provide the product and tool you would prefer we use if different than stated above.

 

How much are Deluxe Spring Cleanings?

All Deluxe Spring Cleanings are charged by the hour.  We will give you an estimated "maximum" price that we feel it should take to clean your home to help you set a budget.  Most average homes are cleaned in less time, and the prices are reduced from this high estimate.  If your home is in a condition that will require more than the average home to get it clean, we will contact you when we arrive at the home to let you know that we might need more time before we begin cleaning.

 

Does FeatherDusters, Inc. offer referral discounts?

Yes, you will receive $25 off your next FeatherDusters, Inc. cleaning for each new customer that signs up for maintenance cleaning services.

Can I hire one of FeatherDusters, Inc. employee's directly?

No.  We invest significant time and resources recruiting, hiring, and training our cleaning teams in order to provide consistent, high quality service to our clients. Our employees have entered into non-compete agreements which prohibit them from, among other things, providing services to our clients outside the scope of their employment with us.  

 

Should you wish to hire a current or previous FeatherDusters, Inc. employee (either legally or on a cash basis) within 2 years from the date that employee last worked for FeatherDusters, Inc., you are liable for an employment referral fee of $2,500.00 per person.  You agree to pay this fee whether you notify us of your action or we discover this employment independently at any time after it occurs.  You further agree to reimburse us for any and all collection or legal fees we incur in collecting this fee. This fee is due in full immediately upon employment or use of the past/present employee, regardless if it is regular employment or on a contractual basis.  Contact our office should you wish to discuss such an arrangement.
